Mr. Michael L. Paylor, PE, PTOE has joined our firm as Vice President of our Traffic Division. Mr. Paylor is a Registered Professional Engineer and Professional Traffic Operations Engineer with more than 23 years of experience in traffic data collection, traffic analysis and traffic impact studies and the development of traffic signal, signing and pavement marking, lighting and maintenance of traffic plans.  He has also developed agency policies, standards and specifications for practices associated with the use of traffic control devices and those devices used for temporary traffic control.  Mr. Paylor earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Morgan State University. He is also a member of Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), County Engineers Association of Maryland (CEAM) and American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE).

Construction Management and Inspection Services, District 2, Maryland State Highway Administration (BCS 2012-08)

BAI will provide construction management and inspection services to support Maryland State Highway Administration, District 2 as part of a joint venture with Alpha Construction and Engineering Corporation. CMI services will be provided to Caroline, Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Talbot counties under this 6-year, $5.2 million contract.

Sindy Dai, PE Project Engineer

Brudis & Associates, Inc. (BAI) would like to congratulate Sindy Dai, PE for passing her professional engineer exam. She is now a registered PE in the State of Maryland. Ms. Dai is an experienced civil and structural engineer with knowledge of design and detailing for sign structures, bridges, buildings, and steel and concrete structures including projects for Maryland SHA and State DOT agencies. Her experience includes condition inspection of bridges and other transportation related structures, design of substructure and superstructure units of bridges, retaining walls, ramp structures, and culverts according to AASHTO standards.

MD SHA Office of Structures Recognizes BAI for MD 404 Water Resources Engineering Services

BAI Water Resources Engineers were recently recognized by Maryland State Highway Administration’s Office of Structures (OOS) for “excellent work in developing hydrology and hydraulics studies for the MD 404 crossings of Norwich Creek and its tributaries.”  BAI worked closely with the OOS Hydraulics Team “to produce high quality studies.” The team was recognized for demonstrating a “true spirit of teamwork, great responsiveness, and willingness to listen.” Congratulations team and thank you for exemplifying our commitment to providing innovative, quality and responsive service.

Maryland Department of General Services  Contract (16-009-IQC) 

BAI will provide civil investigative, design and engineering services and land surveying services for multiple construction projects with fees <$25K >$200K for Maryland Department of General Services. This will be our second consecutive Civil IDC contract with Maryland DGS and 5th overall. BAI has completed multiple civil and structural engineering design projects at Maryland State Parks and state facilities under our existing agreement.

FHWA Safety IV IDIQ Contract

As a member of the Leidos, Inc. team we were selected for the FHWA Safety IV IDIQ Contract. BAI has partnered with LEIDOS for many years. This is BAI’s 4th involvement with FHWA contracts. We are excited to continue our work with the Office of Safety supporting Speed Management Programs and other safety related tasks. The FHWA Office of Safety is responsible for developing highway safety programs nationwide. The effective execution of this responsibility requires an integrated program development process which includes (but is not limited to) feasibility studies, focus group meetings, development of technical reports, guidance, standards, and training; development of regulatory requirements; and outreach to industry.

Traffic Engineering Services, District 6, Maryland SHA (BCS 2013-01)

BAI will  provide traffic engineering services including (but not limited to signal warranting and roundabout analysis, crash analyses and safety studies, lighting analysis, corridor analysis, traffic data collection, traffic study and design services and engineering technical support to Maryland State Highway Administration, District 6 (Allegany, Garrett and Washington counties) under this 5-year, open-end contract.

IDIQ  Civil Engineering Services, Carroll County

BAI will provide site development design and documentation, building site improvements including drainage and pavement design of roadways and parking lots, subsurface utility verification and improvements, topographic surveys, and accessible route analysis  under this IDIQ contract with Carroll County.
